Hello, my wavering witches and welcome to week 12 of our Into the Black Tides Tuesdays! We're quickly moving into December, and soon to follow, the end of 2017. It's hard to believe that Christmas and New Years are right around the corner, but that only means that we're going to be kicking things into an even higher gear to bring you more Otherworlds content!
That's for later, however, as this week we're going to be talking about the Exorcist class. That's right - the demon slinging, holy bringing, hell-or-high water and hymnal singing folks that call the black skies of Transel, home. They've got their work cut out for them here, that's for sure. But, they wouldn't have it any other way!
Protectors from Darkness
So, remember how the skies of Transel are always black, thanks to the sun being black? Yeah, so it’s practically night time, all the time on this orbiting ball of rock - which means that an Exorcist’s job is never really done. But hey, never clocking out does come with a pretty hefty paycheck; so that’s a plus. How hard could it be to purify a bunch of ghosts and ghoulies, anyways?
Well… you best believe that all manner of things go bump in the night here on Transel, so an Exorcist really needs to bring their A game when fighting to keep the darkness, and those that inhabit it, at bay. But, when your job is to vanquish evil in the world, there really isn’t much room for screw ups and off days. So, no pressure or whatever. It’s only your funeral.
Travel Light, With Light
So, you’re probably itching to see what all is included in the Exorcist’s arsenal. It’s rather simple, really - just the usual, holy water and religious tomes, rosary beads, handguns. Just about everything that you’d expect to find. But what you may not know, is that Exorcists use energy to heal their allies and also deal damage to those dastardly demons that would do them harm; and when an Exorcist has you on their hit-list, well… as they say, nothing burns hotter than the fires of judgement.
Don’t think that just because they rely mostly on energy to dish out just-punishment to those that deserve it, that means Exorcists are useless without it. When in need, they’re rather proficient with handguns and daggers, because there’s always that one bastard that eats energy like candy and you really need something else to get the job done. Besides, sometimes your trigger finger gets itchy and you need to satiate that feeling. We don’t judge here.
Hit the Lights
Unfortunately, that’s all the time we have for this week’s edition of Into the Black Tides Tuesdays! But, stick around next week for more Into the Black Tides content. Just make sure you keep that night light plugged in, because Transel can be a dark and scary place, even in the best of lights. You might want to keep that katana handy, as well. You never know.
As always, make sure you subscribe to our newsletter so that you can stay up to date on all things Otherworlds and Vindicated Entertainment! It’s a nice surprise sent straight to your inbox by Mr. Baker, himself. Who doesn’t love surprises?
Until next time, my Franken-friends,
