So! After the fun I had last week releasing "Create the Character: Rocket," I just had to design another character, and with the release of Injustice 2 that happened today, I figured it'd be the perfect time to make Batman, using the Otherworlds system!
Human...that's good at everything
As I expect with all of the characters to be featured in this series, I'm going to run into some obstacles to capture the correct feel of the character. For Batman, it was important for me to be sure he doesn't have or use any type of magic.
He needs to use his wit, technology, and fighting capabilities to gain the edge in combat.
Skills such as Predetermined Plan, Out Maneuver, and Exploit, allows him to out think his adversaries, to always remain on top of the game!
For his technology, we have a wide variety of tools that come in the form of the hunter's traps and trinkets he can make. This gives our Batman access to a plethera of fun, such as Caltrops, Blinding Bomb, Radar Jammer, Stun Net, and Tracker!
The Fighting Capabilities
I designed Batman to have access to the "Brawler" skill branch, this allows him to have some fun with, "Brawl and Beat," :"Pummel," "Fists of Fury," and more, that will make it so your Batman can WAM! and BAM! causing the bad guys to have a really bad day.
Bringing It Back
Batman come from a wealthy family, making it so the "Fortune" background is the perfect selection here. It also allows him to have a butler that can assist him by staying back at his keep, performing tasks, or performing other errands for him.
If we go with the story that Batman trains with the League of Assassins, it makes a lot of sense to have him level in the "Assassination" skill branch. Our Batman will stick with the "no killing" conviction that we know him most for, but being able to attack from stealth, and disable his foes from the shadows is very Batman-like.
What our Batman needs
When designing Batman, I used the below abilities to determine what skills we should give him.
Abilities: Detective Techniques, Criminal Psychology, Invention, Computers, Disguise, Escape Arts, Tracking, Acrobatics, Weapons, and Marksmanship.
